Hackett – 50 years plus: Story of a north Canberra suburb
Dr Andrew Leigh, Federal Member for Fenner and resident of Hackett, officially launched the book ‘Hackett – 50 years plus: Story of a north Canberra suburb’ at the 'Party at the Shops' event on 27 October 2018.
HCA members and contributors have been working on this book for a number of years and are proud to see this comprehensive historical record of Hackett finally come into being.
We have sold all copies of the book but we have an eBook version which can be downloaded for $15.00.

The Australian Government has launched the ‘Connect with your neighbours’ initiative. The Hackett Community Association is highly encouraging of this initiative.Part of tihs initiative is Neighbour Day celebrated each year on the last Sunday in March. The ACT Government has launched a Portrait of a Nation project as part of its Canberra 100 year celebrations. The Hackett Community Association is very supportive of this initiative and encourages local residents with historical experiences or knowledge to contribute to this worthwhile project.

Hackett’s 50th birthday will be celebrated over the 21-22 September 2013 weekend.
